Our family continues to enjoy singing during this restrictive time. Dan's sisters joined him in Ecuador from Canada and Florida, via video, to record an old favorite...He Leadeth Me!
We thank our mom, Debra Doyle, who gave us the love of music and harmony, but most of all, an example of one who loves Jesus, her husband and family. One day we'll join you in Heaven's choir, but until then, we'll go on singing here. We love you, Mom! Happy Mother's Day!
We are looking into possibilities of getting back to the USA. However, there are few, if any, flights. They are charging double right now, if they go at all. Please pray God works out the details in his time. We would like to be back in the States by the end of May/early June. We will have to do a 14 day quarantine at that point.
We're cooped up like everyone else. So what do we do besides regular school?
Audra and Dan built a humming bird feeder, we've played with making videos, we recorded a song (It Is Well) and we're practicing more music. We're reading a book together called, "Joyfully at Home" about becoming a young woman, preparing for future. We watch Little House on the Prairie at night before bed. We try to walk the cow paths once a day. That takes us along the river and the dogs swim for a while. Our curfew is 2pm, so we're restricted later in the day.
Dan continues to mentor guys online, taking them through "Principles of Bible Study" and a couple others in "OT survey". We're going to kick off another "virtual course" in May. Also trying to keep up relationship with pastors I work with here in Cuenca and in Quito, not to mention back in Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
So...it's enough to keep us busy! Haha! We are just a little crazy by not being able to get out and see people face to face. They're talking about stricter measures here. If that happens, we may try to leave earlier...maybe beginning of June instead of July. We have to store our belongings and get passports for our four oldest girls first. Dan's sister sent birth certificates that should arrive April 13, then we can see about renewing passports.
We're just going a day at a time and wait and see.
Let us know what you're doing!
See how God uses relationships to strengthen His church.

Will you please keep praying for Nicaragua? We just ended a call with good friends there. We are not posting their picture or names because they, like many others, have changed their facebook information. This is because there are many who have spoken against the government are now missing or confirmed dead.
Yesterday there was a national work stoppage. You can google Nicaragua and see pictures of deserted streets and stores. These are places we know and shopped. The Nicaragua government is controlling most news outlets and painting a different picture than the people. The truth is that the US has already frozen $800 million dollars that Nicaragua president, Daniel Ortega had in US bank accounts. The States sent a negotiator to talk about his resignation, but no one knows what the outcome of that meeting was.
Our friends are fortified in their house, laying on the bottom of a bunk bed with many things piled on the top bunk. Why? Because just the other day a bullet came through the roof a their friend's house next to his bed. It is not safe for them to leave their house. He has gone nearly two months without work because they live in middle of the hotbed.
We ended the call with prayer, and while we were praying we could hear gunfire from the street. There is much fear and little peace in Nicaragua. There is distrust of the government and president. We shared that we are waiting for one day that the Prince of Peace will rule this world and we can have every confidence in him.
Please keep praying for Nicaragua in the midst of this crisis. Pray for safety of the innocent. Pray for a quick resolution. Pray that believers will shine bright in this dark time.
