Transition Time

Building

The last few months in Nicaragua have been a flurry of activity! In early August, a team came down from Faith Baptist Church-New Port Richey, FL to help build the foundation for the first building on the property for La Gracia. We had some obstacles with getting the land leveled off in time by the subdivision. In the end, we were able to dig the trenches, tie rebar, mix and pour the concrete in just three and a half days! It’s now ready to lay block!
Pray with us as we work through final stages for an organization to come in that would build the rest. La Gracia needs to cover 25% of the cost and this partnering organization would build the rest with volunteers from the States and pay for the rest of the materials!

Pastor Marco's Ordination

The weekend of August 13 was special for La Gracia. After receiving the recommendation of a local council of pastors and missionaries that examined the doctrine and practice of Marco Parrales, La Gracia ordained him into the ministry. What a blessing it was to have some special people come out to celebrate with us. Missionary Andy Large, who led Marco to the Lord, was his first pastor and was the first to disciple him, spoke at the celebration service.

Please pray for Pastors Marco & Osman as they continue to lead the work at La Gracia. Both of their families are making sacrifices to be there and serve the Lord. They both work full time at the ABWE Ministry Center and receive a little salary from La Gracia. However, they are both lacking financially. Please pray for God’s provision for them and what part you may have in supporting a national pastor.

Transition

We made it back to NY August 23! We had a few days to sort through luggage and get a vehicle. God provided an 8 passenger Chevy Traverse! Praise the Lord! We’re bouncing around a bit until we can find a place to settle in for the time we have here.

​We are transitioning from Nicaragua to Ecuador. This means we are transitioning our finances from ABWE to Central Missionary Clearinghouse (CMC). ABWE has been very gracious and helpful. They are willing to work with us in this transition. Their goal is for us to use up the funds in our account. Several people have asked when they should start. We would encourage you to start NOW! Over the next few months we will begin drawing funds from our CMC account until there are no more funds in our ABWE account. Dan's Mom

God brought us back to NY at just the right time. Dan’s mom, Debbie, has been struggling with her health. She’s been fighting cancer for 9 years and Dad has been taking close care of her for several months, but it proved to be just too much. We did not know the extent of Mom’s need. None of the kids live close. We were in Nicaragua, Rachel in Mongolia and Naomi in Florida. Mom’s younger sister, Amy, went to visit and realized the situation was serious. She has been taking care of Mom for the last month! Rachel arrived back from Mongolia to visit and was shocked to find Mom in this condition. We arrived back shortly after. Mom is improving, but very weak. It is a blessing to all be together and share this time together. Please pray for minimal pain for Mom and renewed strength from the Lord.

Wanderings

We feel like Abraham sent to a place he did not know...staying in tents! While we're not staying in tents, we are staying a few days here and a few days there. We're doing this so we are not an inconvenience to any one family. We'd love to have a place to settle for the time in the States. Ideally, it would be close to Little Valley, NY so we can be close to Dan's mom. If you have something available in Western NY, would you let us know?
